Medha improves employment outcomes for youth in India. We provide 21st-century skills training and career services to students at under-resourced educational institutions. Partnering with the public sector, we aim to influence policy from the inside-out, mainstreaming our model and approach into the existing education system, better preparing millions of youth for their lives after school.
Since 2011, we have worked with over 6,000 students across 40 educational institutions, placed them into internships and full-time jobs with 300 leading employers, and built a public-private partnership with the government. We are supported by leading global foundations and corporations and have received numerous awards and recognition for our work.
CURRENT OPPORTUNITY – COMMUNICATIONS
Medha is in the process of scaling its work to 30,000 youth across five states in the next three years. To achieve this ambitious growth, we are replicating our model across 100 educational institutions in 25 Tier II/III cities and towns. In parallel, we are working with state and central government departments to integrate our programming, approach, and processes into the public-sector education system.
Accordingly, Medha is looking for passionate and motivated professionals to help design, develop, and implement our overall communications and branding strategies.
NATURE OF WORK
The Communications manager is responsible for developing and executing organization-wide plans that support the key objectives of the organization. This includes but is not limited to branding and messaging, collaterals and materials, digital and social media, and public relations.
Medha works with adolescents and young adults between the ages of 16 – 24 from the northern part of India and focuses on 21st-century skills, career development, and industry awareness. Candidates should, therefore, be passionate about working with this population and on these topics, as well as equally as comfortable in written and spoken Hindi and English. Medha is a non-profit that works with multiple stakeholders – students, employers, academia, government, donors, etc. – and therefore requires a multidimensional and cohesive communications strategy.
Ideal candidates would have previous experience designing, developing, and executing broad-based communications plans. It would be an advantage if they have experience working with one or more of our key stakeholders. As important, however, you should be a creative thinker, self-motivated, passionate about design aesthetics, and a stickler for details.

This is a full-time position based in Lucknow. Salary range is Rs. 4.8 – 7.2 lakh per annum, plus EPF, annual bonus, and other benefits.
