Close to 50 students from all three colleges Medha worked at this year joined us for a graduation event on February 14th at Medha’s new office!

Hanumant Rawat and Madhawi Bisht from American India Foundation in Delhi also joined us for the event.

The Medha graduation ceremony at Maharaja Bijli Pasi College caught the attention of not just the local and regional media that covered it extensively, but also the big national dailies!

Chris speaks at Deshpande Development Dialogue

Medha Co-Founder, Chris Turillo, spoke at Deshpande Foundation’s Development Dialogue held in Hubli, Karnataka this year. The session was titled ‘Entrepreneurs Without Borders: Putting Out of the Box Ideas to Work’ wherein Chris spoke about the Medha experience.

Medha students at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Degree College organised a ‘Career Choupal’ for fellow students at the college. The event was aimed at giving students a chance to interact with experts from different fields and assist them in choosing the right career path. The panelists included Sunita Aron, the resident editor of Hindustan Times, Monica Ahuja, the training manager at Tata Motors, and fashion designer Asma Hussain. The event was preceded by a cultural programme and followed by the graduation ceremony of the Medha students.

Medha students at AGDC organized an industry panel discussion on potential career paths in the private sector. Panelists included Pankaj Bhadouria, winner of MasterChef season 1 and head of the Pankaj Bhadouria Culinary Academy, Shipra Anand, design educator at JD Fashion Institute, and Sonia Paul, a Columbia J-school graduate and freelance journalist. Medha thanks volunteer Roderick Clarke - former Corporate Auditor at Tata Steel Europe - for helping us improve accounting standards and streamline our financial processes and controls. Rod is a member of Accounting for International Development (AfID), and spent six weeks at Medha.

Medha led a training session for polytechnic principals in the state as part of a three-day workshop on ‘Effective Industry Engagement For Enhanced Employability of Students’, organized by CII in conjunction with TCS and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Medha’s Chris and Byomkesh led the session, with more than 70 principals participating in the ‘Paper Bridge’ and ‘Personal SWOT Game’ activities from the Medha program. More photos on Facebook
