Founded in November 2016, NavGurukul is an India based non-profit organization operating primarily in the field of higher education for marginalised women, providing aspirational jobs* through its flagship residential course of ~1 year. Through their programs they aim to create opportunities for direct employment or IT-based advanced training for students who successfully complete their courses.
Key areas of work
- Residential Campus : A self-paced 12-15 months program, with a focus on learning software development. The students are provided with placement support and guaranteed employment.
- Meraki Mobile App : The app introduces programming to students starting from secondary schools. The courses include scratch, typing, python, web development and english. It also carries vernacular content, live classes and offline practice sessions.
- Code India Fellowship : The program places high quality facilitators to teach programming to children in remote areas. The focus is to build a strong based of digital and programming skills for students to pursue higher education in this field.
