Be unreasonable with your ideas! – Rubaru Season 8
For the eighth season of RubaRu which was specifically designed for upcoming entrepreneurs, we travelled to Anand, Gujarat where IRMA and ISEED were our co-hosts.
The 28 final were selected based on a modified Business Model Canvas each of them had to prepare. This included the summary of their idea, the problem that it posited to solve and their theory of change.
On reaching Anand, the program kickstarted with an orientation session led by Prof. Shambhu briefing them about the 3-day long workshops that were designed for season eight of Rubaru. These included sessions covering significant elements of entrepreneurship, competition on the best business pitch, visit
The competition on delivering the best business pitch within 90 seconds brought out the participants’ competitive spirits and was one of the best learning experiences for them.
Neeraj, a participant from Patna won this competition for his pitch on ‘cultivating oyster mushrooms’.
The participants also learned a lot from Jayesh Patel, the local entrepreneur who owns a dairy and has made waste management a part of his work process. He left everyone in awe when he spoke of how he mentored dairy farmers in the area.
“Until now I’d just seen the profit angle to a business. It was during this visit that I learned how a business can also bring about a change in society.”
– Ayush, a RubaRu 8 participant
The season concluded with ‘Life Map’, an activity that all our RubaRu participants across seasons say, “hits home”.
Here he participants speak about, how despite so many challenges which could’ve brought them down, they’ve marched on.
Building bridges between ideas and successes.
